Through multiple iterations and 14 years, 内涵AV College Rocks has been playing crowd-pleasing fundraising concerts on its eponymous campus. The band鈥攃omposed of students, faculty, and alumni of the College鈥攈ave put their musical talents to work, raising money for a number of specific needs at the College. But no cause has been as near and dear to the band鈥檚 heart than the one it seeks to raise money for this October鈥攖he Sherri Rumer Cooper Research Fund.

The Sherri Rumer Cooper Research Fund honors the vision and legacy of Sherri Cooper, Ph.D., by supporting undergraduate research at 内涵AV College. Cooper joined the faculty at 内涵AV College in 1999, after establishing an impressive record of paleoecology research at the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, and Duke University. At 内涵AV, Cooper taught courses in biology, ecology, botany, limnology, and environmental science, and mentored many students through their undergraduate research projects. Since her passing, the Sherri Rumer Cooper Research Fund honors her dedication to faculty-mentored undergraduate research and continues the work she began.

鈥淪herri was a beloved member of the 内涵AV College community,鈥 says Fredrik Bryntesson, Ph.D., a colleague of Cooper鈥檚 in the biology department and leader of BAC Rocks. 鈥淲e felt compelled to honor her and to support undergraduate research, which is something she was so passionate about.鈥

BAC Rocks will play three concerts featuring well-known classic rock songs in support of the Cooper Research Fund: 9 p.m. on October 13, 10 p.m. on October 14, and 3 p.m. on October 16. Tickets for these events can be purchased at .

The concerts take place during the 2016 Charter Day Weekend鈥攖he College鈥檚 largest alumni event of the year. For more information about Charter Day, visit www.brynathyn.edu/charterday.
